Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo, commonly known as Bapak (born in Semarang on June 22, 1901, Central Java, Dutch East Indies, and died on June 23, 1987).
As a young man, Muhammad Subuh claimed to have had various experiences that he believed connected him to spiritual energy from a higher power. In the 1930s, he believed these experiences were meant to transmit the spiritual energy he received which he called "Latihan Kejiwaan" to others.
